About
Steel Valley Arts Council (SVAC) is an all volunteer community arts organization, represented by 30-member volunteers and the membership continues to grow. SVAC is dedicated to preservation, community interaction, dialogue, and emerging artistic thought through rich creative endeavors. Serving the greater Steel Valley area -Homestead, Whitaker, West Homestead, and Munhall- the non-profit is one of the only progressive arts organization implementing artistic endeavors throughout the Monongahela River Valley.

Steel Valley Arts Council's impact reaches further to the Western Pennsylvania region through national exhibits, eclectic performances, and activities with universal appeal. The gallery, artspace, is located in the historic district of Homestead on East Eighth Avenue. The Steel Valley region, once home to the largest steel-producing mill in the world, is now an opulent, ethnically diverse community peppered with some of the most talented artists, craft makers, and creative thinkers today.
